Summer break is coming to an end and our girls are starting training and preparations for the upcoming season!
Red Star Belgrade volleyball players gathered at Marakana for a meeting with the coaching staff and the club’s management before the start of preparations for the 2026/2027 season.
The girls were first addressed by the general director of OK Crvena Zvezda, Nikola Rosić , who wished everyone a welcome back after the break and good luck in the coming period.
He emphasized that he is very proud of the team, which he is sure that, with dedicated and hard work, can achieve its goals in all competitions and honorably represent the emblem and colors of Red Star.
He emphasized that he and the management are at the disposal of all players and that they are all dedicated and committed to achieving the set goals.
Sports director Nemanja Petrić continued and confirmed that this team, with work and discipline, can achieve great results and that he is sure that the working environment is excellent.
Head coach Danilo Stokuća emphasized that he is very satisfied with the team’s composition and believes that a great selection of players has been made who will confirm this with their playing and human qualities.
He once again confirmed that Red Star always has the biggest goals that will not be easy to achieve, but he is convinced that if everyone works hard, results cannot be missed.
The new team captain , Višnja Žigić, greeted her teammates, shared her experiences from the recently concluded European Junior Senior Championship, and emphasized that she is certain that this team has the quality to, with the right energy and honest relationships, achieve the highest success in all competitions next season.
Missing from the roll call were Nađa Antonović, who is with the senior Serbian national team, as well as Taylor Bruns, who will join the team next week.
Next season, head coach Danilo Stokuća will be able to count on the following players:
Libero: Visnja Zigic and Tamara Stupar
Proofreaders: Katarina Stanković, Ana Savić and Anđelija Zirojević
Lifters: Taylor Bruns, Tea Stojanovic and Una Dobricanin
Middle blockers: Magdalena Obucina, Isidora Jakovljevic, Cvetomir Mitkova and Anđela Marinković
Recipients: Nadja Antonovic, Ljubica Kecman, Milana Stankovic, Teodora Zec, Irena Jovanovic
Red Star Belgrade will compete in the Serbian Super League, Serbian Cup, and CEV Cup in the 2026/2027 season.
The girls have been waiting for their first training sessions since tomorrow and preparations are starting in full swing.
