Our girls failed to pull off a big surprise and defeat Panathinaikos on the away field.
The home team won the first match of the CEV Challenger Cup quarterfinals with a score of 3-0, with the scores 25:19, 25:16, 25:21.
An excellent game by Red Star, and despite the seemingly convincing defeat, our girls showed great energy and were not without a chance in any set.
The most efficient player in the Red Star team was Magdalena Obućina with 12 points, followed by Katarina Stanković with 10 points, while captain Nikolina Lukić added 9 points.
Božica Marković also joined the scorers list with 7 points, Nađa Antonović scored 6, Tea Simić added 3 and Milica Jovanović scored 2 points.
An unfortunate result before the rematch at Banjica, which will be played next week, our girls need a convincing victory to win the golden set.
Before that, we have an always interesting match against Radnicki Blasters on Sunday.
