With great sadness and pain, we said goodbye to Aleksandar Boričić, a man who, with his knowledge, energy and vision, left an indelible mark on Serbian and world volleyball.

As part of our Red Star, Aleksandar Boričić was not only a top sports worker, but also a true star – dedicated, responsible and unwavering in his intention to raise volleyball to a higher level. His work within our club was the foundation for further development, professionalization, and the international reputation we enjoy today.

His journey in the red and white family began back in 1962. . He grew up under our crest as a player, brought us championship trophies and wrote the first pages of history. He later continued to selflessly share his love and invaluable volleyball knowledge as the coach of our women’s team, leading it to dominant titles and European heights, and then as the leader of the club and the Sports Society.

Through his subsequent engagements in national and international institutions, including the position of President of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), he continued to promote the values he brought with him from Red Star Belgrade – expertise, integrity and the courage to make big decisions in the interest of the sport. His contribution to the development of volleyball in Serbia and throughout Europe remains permanently inscribed in history.

Today, Red Star Belgrade is not only losing a former official and sports worker, but also a friend, mentor and a man whose ideas shaped generations of athletes and sports professionals.

On behalf of the entire red and white family, we express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of working with Aleksandar Boričić.

His name will forever remain a part of the history of Red Star and Serbian volleyball.
