Our boys failed to pull off a big surprise in the first match of the round of 16 of the CEV Challenger Cup.
Allianz Milano won 0-3 at Banjica, with the scores 16:25, 23:25 and 18:25.
Although seemingly dominant for most of the match, Red Star was an equal opponent, only allowing the guests to break free towards the end of the set.
The most efficient player in the Red Star team was Omar Ahmed Dejo with 8 points, followed by Milan Krstić and Aleksandar Bošnjak with 7 points each, while Đorđe Kovač added 6.
Other scorers included Aleksa Starović with 3 points, Andrej Rudić and Danilo Ilić with 2 points each, while captain Nikola Petrović added one point.
The rematch is scheduled for a week in Milan, and before that, our boys will play away to Mladin Radnik in Požarevac this weekend.
