Our girls are 2026. started the year in the best possible way, with a convincing victory in the round of 16 of the CEV Challenger Cup.

Red Star defeated the home team Holte 3-1 in Denmark, with the scores 25:17, 24:26, 25:15 and 23:25.

Our girls opened the match decisively and very quickly showed an obvious difference in quality, after the first few points they made a difference that they maintained until the end of the set.

The home team threatened in the first half of the game, but they were unable to get any closer.

An almost identical start to the second set, but Holte now wakes up and doesn’t allow Red Star to get away, even taking the lead.

Our girls managed to find the strength for another surge and were close to turning the game around, but the home team managed to tie the game at 1-1.

In the third set, it seemed as if the even game and equal fight would continue, but then Red Star made a relentless run of 8 points and routinely brought the third part of the game to an end.

The Danes were aware that they were about to lose, and despite a weaker start to the fourth set, they quickly found their game and it was certain that a fifth set would be played, but then the girls again played tenaciously and melted the home team’s advantage and turned it around at the very end of the set for a great 3-1 win before the rematch in Belgrade.

The most efficient player in the Red Star team was captain Nikolina Lukić with 17 points, followed by Katarina Stanković with 15, Magdalena Obućina added 12, while Nađa Antonović scored 10 points.

A great result ahead of the second leg next week at Banjica and a big step towards the quarterfinals of the CEV Challenger Cup, where the winner will play the better team from the duel between Panathinaikos and Braga, where the Greek team was convincing in the first match with a score of 3-0.
