Great game in the second leg of the Cup semi-final, convincing victory, but Spartak in the final.
In the second match, our boys made up for the deficit from Subotica and defeated Spartak with a score of 3-0, in sets of 25:16, 25:20 and 25:14, and won the golden set in which, unfortunately, the guests fared better, winning 15:9 and advancing to the finals of the 61st. Serbian Volleyball Cup.
Another exciting match and a great performance by Red Star, from the first point of the first set we made it clear that advancing was the only goal.
Our guys built an advantage in the first half of the game and basically never let it go until the end, they absolutely controlled the game and implemented the plan from the locker room without a mistake.
The lead grew quickly and the first set ended quite convincingly in our favor.
A similar development of the situation was seen in the second set, our boys completely dictated the result and although Spartak showed more than in the previous part of the game, they did not have a real chance to get closer or turn the tables.
We started even stronger and more convincingly in the third set, it was soon clear that the guests from Subotica would not be able to avoid a convincing defeat and our boys brought the regular part of the game to an end without a mistake.
Everything that could be said so far about Red Star’s performance in the golden set can now be said about Spartak.
The guests started convincingly and finished the set without a mistake, not leaving our boys a real chance to get involved in the game and unfortunately, with a victory in the golden set, they earned a passage to the finals where they will await the better of the duel between Vojvodina and Radnički.
The most efficient player in the Red Star team was Milan Krstić with 22 points, Alija Bekrić added 21 points, while Omar Ahmed Dejo scored 17 points.
The end of the Cup for Red Star, again in the semifinals, but there is no time to despair, because the Eternal Derby in the Super League awaits us on Saturday.
