Over the weekend, our seniors participated in two memorial tournaments as part of the final preparations before the start of the season and, as usual, they returned with enviable results.

Our boys participated in the 5th “Miodrag Mija Todorović” Memorial Tournament in Topola, organized by the Karađorđe Club.

In addition to Red Star, Spartak from Subotica, Radnicki from Kragujevac, and the host OK Karađorđe also participated in the tournament.

Our boys played their semi-final match against the hosts on Friday and after a great fight, they won 3-2, with the scores of 22:25, 25:18, 24:26, 25:11 and 15:9, which advanced them to the finals.

In the gold medal match, we faced the current champion Radnicki from Kragujevac and another dramatic match where our boys, after a great fight and five sets played, came away with a 3-2 victory, with the scores 18:25, 25:18, 23:25, 25:18 and 23:21.

The MVP of the tournament was our team’s libero Bogdan Tomašević.
