Our girls convincingly advanced to the next stage of the competition in the second leg of the round of 32 of the CEV Challenger Cup.
Belgian Shalou was defeated 3-0 at Banjica, with the scores 25:18, 25:23 and 25:16.
From the beginning of the match, our girls showed that they were truly the better team, they held the Belgians back in the first set, but Zvezda’s advantage grew and held until the final score of 25-18.
Similar play and development in the second set, the guests were close in terms of results, even managing to fully come back towards the end of the set, but not enough to turn the tables.
The third set saw a slightly different game, our girls broke the set faster and left no room for uncertainty for the Shallow team to try to win the set.
The most efficient player in the Red Star team was captain Nikolina Lukić, followed by Božica Marković with 13 points, and Nađa Antonović with 7 points. Anica Popadić and Katarina Stanković, while Milica Jovanović added 6 points.
A great victory and great success for our girls, a place in the round of 16 of the CEV Challenger Cup, where we will face the Danish team Holte, who defeated the Austrian Graz.
Before continuing our European adventure, we have a duel with Leskovac and the first match of the Serbian Cup semi-finals.
