Our girls played another exciting five-set duel, this time in the semifinals of the Serbian Cup.

After a great fight and an extremely uncertain match, we came out on top in the semifinal series, defeating TENT with a score of 3-2, in sets of 30:28, 25:22, 15:25, 14:25 and 15:9.

The match started with an even fight and both teams showed that they were determined to open the semifinals with a victory, but the slight advantage was on the side of TENT, who even managed to break away near the end of the first set and looked like they would take the lead.

With an incredible series and a heart-pounding fight, Red Star came back and turned the score around and won the first set.

The second set started very similarly, but our girls kept control of the score and without major fluctuations increased their lead to 2-0 in sets.

Then followed a major decline in Red Star’s play, as if they had already finished the match, which the experienced TENT team took advantage of and convincingly won the next two sets and tied the score.

Our girls woke up in the fifth set, making it clear that they would not allow a reversal and defeat on home court, and without major problems they decided the match in their favor.

The most efficient player in the Red Star team was Nađa Antonović with 22 points, followed by Katarina Stanković with 20, while Anica Popadić and Božica Marković added 11 points each.

The second leg will be played in Obrenovac in two weeks.

A big and important victory against a rival that has been an insurmountable obstacle for us in recent seasons, as well as an excellent opening of the semi-final series, but there is not much time to rest because we play the match of the new round of the Super League with the Belgrade team on Friday.
